Nitin Raju
My name is Nitin Raju, a rising senior at The Westminster Schools. Stemming from a love for sports and a desire to give back, I founded Let The Kids Play, a 501c3 non-profit aiming to eliminate the disparity of equipment availability for underprivileged children in the Atlanta area. During an assembly at Westminster, we heard an inspiring story from the girls' varsity soccer team. The girls were facing off against another school, who showed up late due to the lack of girls available. This inspired the Westminster team to help the opposing school with providing equipment and just spending time with them, fostering a strong sense of community. Hearing this and reflecting on my time playing sports inspired me to do my part in making sure as many kids as possible have the opportunity to create a love for sports.

Rian Merchant
My name is Rian Merchant, rising senior at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, GA, USA. Over the years, I’ve played around 10 sports, and realized the importance of equipment and resources in each sport. During an event in which I learned about another nonProfit’s impact on the Boys & Girls Clubs in underprivileged places across Atlanta, I was inspired to take on a similar role. Henceforth, I founded Let The Kids Play, in efforts to provide as much sports equipment as possible to those in need. We’ve expanded to 5 schools across 3 continents, and combined our collaborative efforts to make the great impact possible in sports communities across Atlanta.
I am undoubtedly excited about the future of our nonprofit organization, and immensely proud of the impact my peers and I have made thus far. Our goals certainly couldn’t have been achieved without the help of our donors, partners, and volunteers!
